  • How does a Tap2Tag device work?
    Tap2Tag devices work by simply tapping one of our products to any, internet connected, NFC capable phone. This will pull up the associated Tap2Tag profile depending on the device that is tapped.
  • How do I register a device?
    Once you have set up an account a device can be registered one of two ways. The first is done by tapping the device to your NFC enabled phone. This will automatically bring up the device setup page in your phones internet browser. From there you will need to either create a Connect/ Medical or Pet profile or you can link an unregistered device to an existing profile. The second option is done by entering the 9 digit code, found on your Tap2Tag device, into the “+ ADD DEVICE” link within your Tap2Tag account.
  • How secure is my information?
    At TeqMarq your security is our primary concern. Every profile is protected by SSL (Secure Socket Layer) ensuring that all data remains private and integral. Additionally, you can set how accessible you want your profile information to be. Each field of information in a profile has 3-4 levels of privacy. Green (viewable on tap), Yellow (only signed-in Tap2Tag profiles can view the field), Black (Private to profile owner), Red (Visible only to yourself or a medical professional). This allows each user to adjust the privacy of their information individually.
  • What happens if I lose or damage my Tap2Tag device?
    If you happen lose or damage your Tap2Tag device first you will need to log into your Tap2Tag account. Once in your account select your devices. This will display any Tap2Tag devices that you have registered. Selecting the “Revoke” option, under the device name, will unlink the attached profile. If the lost device is tapped afterwards it will no longer display your information.
  • My Tap2Tag device doesn’t work. What do I do?

  • Where can I purchase Tap2Tag products?
    Currently Tap2Tag products are sold on our website, www.teqmarq.com and Amazon.com. We are also working with a variety of retailers and are looking to sell our products at local stores in the near future.
  • Can I purchase a Tap2Tag product for someone else?
    Yes, you can purchase any Tap2Tag product for a friend and/or family member. For more information please see “How do I create a Tap2Tag profile?” and “How do I register a device?” for account setup information.
  • Can I give a Tap2Tag device I have already registered to somebody else?
    Yes. Any devices you may already own can have an existing profile removed from it this will allow you to change ownership of the device by registering it to another profile. For more information please see “How do I create a Tap2Tag profile?” and “How do I register a device?” for account setup information.
  • How do I manage a Tap2Tag device that I purchased for someone?
    If you wish to manage a tag for another individual, first, go to the Tap2Tag homepage. Type the code, on the tag you wish to manage, in to the search bar and hit the link titled "Look Up Device". If the tag has not been registered, click the link labeled "Register Tag" to begin registering/managing the individual's tag. If the tag has previously been registered, you can log in to the account assigned to the tag and start managing the individual's tag immediately.
  • Do I have to pay a subscription to use Tap2Tag?
    Currently the only charges to be made will be for text messaging ICE (In Case of Emergency) contacts. Additionally our Tap2Tag+ GPS devices require a subscription since they require a mobile data plan in order to operate the GPS and callout features.
  • Are Tap2Tag devices waterproof?
    All of Tap2Tag devices, including the Tap2Tag+, are waterproof as the NFC chips are enclosed in waterproof materials. The wristbands are made from a waterproof resin and have been tested during a scuba dive to 29.5m. The Tap2Tag+ devices have a rating of IPX-5*. *Water projected by a nozzle (6.3 mm) against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects.
  • Can I use Tap2Tag outside of the country I purchased the device in?
    Tap2Tag devices will work anywhere in the world as long as the device is scanned by an internet connected, NFC capable phone.
  • Is there any risk of the Tap2Tag devices interfering with other medical devices such as a hearing aid or pacemaker?
    No. Since all our Tap2Tag devices use NFC technology there is no chance of our products interfering with other medical devices such as hearing aids and pacemakers.
  • What is the typical lifespan of a Tap2Tag device?
    We have been informed by our suppliers that the lifespan of a typical NFC tag is at least five years. Aside from that all of our products come with a 12 month guarantee.
  • Can I take my Tap2Tag device through airport security?
    Yes, NFC tags meet the International Permitted Items for airport security.
  • Who gets notified when a Tap2Tag Medical or Pet device is tapped?
    Each Tap2Tag account can set emergency contacts from within with the medical and pet profiles. You can set up alerts to notify ICE (In Case of Emergency) contacts via email and/or text when the Tap2Tag device is tapped. Currently we are working to further improve our system so that your ICE contacts will also receive the GPS location of where the device was tapped.
  • How do I create a Tap2Tag account?

  • What is a Tap2Tag profile?
    A Tap2Tag profile can fall into 1 of 3 categories. Connect, Medical and Pets. Each profile can store pertinent information that is relevant to each category. For example a Connect profile has fields that allows you to link to social media or a business contact number while a Pet profile would have fields such as veterinarian information or emergency contact numbers.
  • How do I create a Tap2Tag profile?
    You can create a Tap2Tag account here. After your account is set up you can create profiles, register a Tap2Tag device and view connection logs from within the dashboard.
  • What is the Traffic Light System?
    Within each Tap2Tag profile each field of information can be toggled to your preference. GREEN TRIANGLE - The data in this field will be shown on the Public Profile and the information will be visable to anyone who taps your device. AMBER SQUARE - This information will be shown only after someone has created a Tap2Tag account and logged in. This then creates a Tagging Log where you can see who has accessed your information. Only people with validated email accounts or who have created an account with any of the Social Media buttons (as these are already pre-validated) can see this information. RED CROSS - Only medical personnel can see this information. Currently this not being used in North America. BLACK PADLOCK - - There are some pieces of information that only you want to be able to see. Any data field with the Black Padlock will only be seen by you when accessing your Tap2Tag profile using your own account.
  • How many profiles can I register to my account?
    There is currently no limit on the number of profiles you can set up. We do recommended that you keep the total number of profiles to a manageable level. However only one profile can be assigned to each device at a time. In the future we will be restricting the number of medical profiles to eight as this appears to be an optimum number to administer under one account.
  • What happens if I forget my password?

  • What types of documents can I upload to my Tap2Tag profile?
    You can only upload single PDF documents into your Tap2Tag profile. PDF's are probably the most secure type of document and cannot be easily edited once they have been loaded. You can upload other documents but you will need to select a new document within the profile to do this.
  • What is NFC?
    “NFC” stands for ‘Near Field Communications’. NFC technology enables a close proximity, 4cm, wireless transfer of small amounts of data from a passive (battery-less) tag to a powered reader such as a cell phone.
  • What is the difference between NFC and RFID?
    RFID is the process by which items are uniquely identified using radio waves, and NFC is a specialized subset within the family of RFID technology. Specifically, NFC is a branch of High-Frequency (HF) RFID, and both operate at the 13.56 MHz frequency. NFC is designed to be a secure form of data exchange, and an NFC device is capable of being both an NFC reader and an NFC tag. This unique feature allows NFC devices to communicate peer-to-peer.   • Why did Tap2Tag choose NFC over other technologies, like RFID?"
    Tap2Tag chose to use NFC over RFID because of the needed close proximity to activate the NFC tags. This feature allows us to use the same high levels of security that you have come to expect from your credit or debit cards.
  • How do I know if my phone is NFC capable?

  • I do not see any iPhone’s on the list. Will my iPhone work with Tap2Tag?
    Yes, Tap2Tag will work with the iPhone XR/XS and XS max and beyond. Older iPhones will need to use the QR code on the back of the Tap2Tag device.
  • What do I do if I do not have a NFC mobile device?
    Every Tap2Tag device has a unique code printed on it. If you do not have an RFID or NFC enabled device to scan the tag to initiate the registration process then you can register your device here. After the registeration is complete you can view your profile any time by entering the 9 letter Tap2Tag code associated to your device.
  • How are the Tap2Tag Medical devices different from other products and services?
    Each Tap2Tag Medical profile that is attached to a Tap2Tag Medical device can typically display more information than our competitors. Fields such as allergies, medications, blood type and emergency contacts can all be added to your Tap2Tag Medical profiles at no additional costs. Our medical forms can also be edited online at any time by you to account for any changes in your medical prescriptions or conditions. Once your profile is updated it is automatically applied to any of your Tap2Tag Medical devices that you have assigned your medical profile to. Additionally our system will allow you to restrict what information is available to responders giving individuals peace of mind knowing that possibly sensitive information cannot be obtained by just anyone. Finally our system will also automatically notify your emergency contacts by email and/or text message if somebody has tapped your Tap2Tag Medical device.
  • Who gets notified when my Tap2Tag Medical device is tapped?

  • Returns/ Exchanges
    TeqMarq will exchange items within 30 days of purchase. Items must be in their original state, unaltered, free of visible marks, scratches, or defects, and complete with all components and packaging materials. All exchanges are subject to inspection and approval by a TeqMarq Representative. If you are not satisfied with your purchase we will gladly exchange it for another size or product. Please send an email with your name and order number to customersupport@Teqmarq.com stating which item you would like to exchange it for. If the item you want to exchange is at a higher price point than the original item you purchased, you must submit further payment for the difference for the new order to be shipped. If the item you are exchanging is at a lower price point, you will receive a refund in the original payment method.
  • How do I cancel an order?
    If you wish to cancel an order made through the teqmarq website please contact us billing@teqmarq.com as soon as possible with the order number, your name and the reason for cancelling the order. If we have received the order cancellation before it is processed, we will cancel the order and issue you with a full refund.
